US Country Head, Information Services (North America)

This is a Full-time position in Houston, MO posted March 25, 2020.

As part of the Plainsrsquo Information Services (North America) senior leadership team, the US Country Head will develop and lead multiple high-performing IT technical function product teams while fostering a culture of technical excellence and continuous improvement across all technology areas.

Comprised of approximately 120 people, this team will in turn enable Plainsrsquo business functions to optimize business performance and productivity through the deployment and sustainment of integrated information technology (IT) and operating technology (OT) solutions.

The US Country Head responsibilities are broad in scope and require creativity, flexibility, analytical and structured thinking, and strong communication, teaming and leadership skills.

Through assessing existing Plainsrsquo solutions, the changing needs of our business, and the competitive technology landscape, the US Country Head will craft strategic technology platform implementation programs with an eye to scale, efficiency, and quantifiable business impact.

The successful candidate will be highly self-motivated and able to independently drive strategic initiatives from ideation to execution through effective teaming and networking across the company.

They will have broad business and technology perspectives, and the ability to synthesize an array of inputs into a coherent picture of the future that aligns to the North American strategy.

A primary responsibility of this role is the development of team leadership and technical practice expertise within the regionrsquos functional and product teams this will include enhanced leader and team development through coaching and performance management, expansion of technical and team leader skills through managed talent acquisition and development, and enhancing delivery excellence practices and standards.

Selected Job Responsibilities Analyzes regional market and industry trends that will impact our business, and in turn our technology organization Evaluates key industry and technology platforms and providing thought leadership to the enterprise, including ensuring the technology teams are engaged on current trends and developments Leads the Information Services (North America) Strategy Planning team in developing the North American IS Strategic Plan and associated capability development roadmaps Assesses organizational needs and presenting technology platform options for enhancing current systems and infrastructures Works closely with business executives to help align their strategic objectives with technology platform implementation enhancement support, and the ongoing provision of associated technical services for corresponding initiatives Leads and reinforces strategic implementation project definition, idea generation, and implementation for executing multiple projects concurrently Education Experience A Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science or related field.

Master’s Degree or MBA preferred A minimum of fifteen (15) plus years of technology leadership experience Demonstrated progressively increasing roles of responsibility with a proven track record of significantly improving business performance through technology, data, analytics, and client support Proven experience in leading the significant growth of a comparable business, where some degree of positive disruption in the business through technology contributed to the pace of growth Hands-on experience running mission-critical IT operations.

Detail oriented and the ability to span the leadership spectrum from technical architecture to top-level business interaction Demonstrated analytical skills and the able to manage multiple projects under strict timelines as well as the ability to work well in a demanding, dynamic environment and meet overall objectives Demonstrated project management skills financialbudget management, scheduling and resource management Experience with contract and vendor negotiations, expertise in negotiating complex contracts, and managing vendors, including design and tracking of Service Level Agreements High level of personal integrity as well as the ability to professionally handle confidential matters and to show an appropriate level of judgment.

High degree of initiative, dependability and ability to work with little supervision Ability to communicate a business-centric, technology vision that inspires and motivates staff Able to respond rapidly to changing technology and apply leading-edge technology to business needs Plan and direct technology efforts to improve operational efficiency, service delivery, and information management across all areas of the business and technology platforms Strong customer service orientation and collaboration skills to drive key critical decisions across the organization and resolve complex problems
