This is a Full-time position in Riverton, UT posted March 25, 2020.

Purposes A Cloud System Engineer 3 is responsible for cloud systems, on-prem infrastructure and services needed to bridge cloud and on-prem architecture.

You will work as a member of a service-oriented solution team to create high quality, high performing, highly-available, fully automated solutions for continuous integration and delivery (CI/CD) using industry leading pipeline tools and agile management applications.

The ideal candidate will have both excellent problem solving and technical skills.

You will use those skills to implement and expand the automated processes and tools which support ICS developed applications using languages like YAML, Java, JavaScript, and RESTful APIs to name a few.

You will have the opportunity to develop a deep and working knowledge of many services.

You will also work with world-class cloud-based technologies.

More importantly you will create services and solutions which enable processes to improve the quality and delivery of solutions developed by ICS teams.

This position is central to the DevOps processes being adopted by ICS development teams.

This position will be instrumental is developing and guiding DevOps practices.

The person in this position will collaborate with many other positions across ICS to identify requirements and develop automated delivery solutions.

This position requires good communication and technical documenting skills.

This individual works with divine guidance to provide or support technology that furthers the mission of the Church and reflects the eternal impact of the gospel.

Responsibilities Provide input to strategic plans and product roadmaps with a focus on cloud products and delivery Code APIs to work with cloud systems and when required to help bridge on-prem systems and applications with the cloud Code applications designed to work with or enhance features offered by cloud platforms Develop, implement, and maintain continuous integration, and continuous delivery systems Participate is the design and documentation of DevOps principles and processes Implement and operate scalable and highly available development tools Respond to escalated incidents and engage vendors as necessary.

Identify, track, and resolve associated problems Author and maintain documentation and knowledge-based articles Adhere to all security guidelines and ensure that systems are properly protected with working backups; ensure all others with access are doing the same Perform general research to evaluate a range of cloud product offerings, new cloud features, and emerging trends Identify and document technical application, architectures and requirements Order, provision and configure supporting systems and infrastructure Interact with vendors and provide feedback on their products that influences their product roadmap Participate in the design and implementation of supporting systems and infrastructure Keep training material up-to-date Document the steps required to fulfill service requests Ensure system monitoring is properly tuned Qualifications Education: Bachelor’s degree in related field or equivalent professional experience Cloud Certified DevOps Engineer – Associate or Solutions Architect – Associate preferred Work Experience: 4+ years relevant system administration experience in a large structured operational environment 2+ years cloud computing and development experience 2+ years relevant DevOps experience in agile continuous delivery environments.

Demonstrated Skills & Abilities: Understanding of core cloud technologies and tools Experience with templating languages and configuration management tools Experience engineering solutions in various cloud platforms Basic knowledge of networking concepts like DNS, TCP/IP and firewalls Experience with various scripting languages and restful API’s Understanding of virtualization and containerization Familiar with DevSecOps, Scrum, and ITIL concepts is preferred Experience with Change, Incident, and Problem management processes Exceptional oral and written communication skills Basic understanding of and experience working in large-scale structured operations This job operates in a professional office environment To successfully perform the essential functions of the job there may be physical requirements which need to be met such as sitting for long periods of time and using computer monitors/equipment Worthiness Qualification Must be a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and currently temple worthy.
