Senior software development engineer

This is a Full-time position in Piney, MO posted January 3, 2020.

Whole Foods Market has embarked on transformational Supply Chain and Merchandising initiatives that will deliver market leading capabilities to our company.

The Senior Software Development Engineer will work alongside Application Architects, Product Owners and Agile Development teams to develop and enhance software solutions across various product releases.

In this role, you will be responsible for creating scalable technical designs and code for complex internally developed Supply Chain and Merchandising applications, servicing users across various roles and responsibilities.

You will coach and mentor other team members, and work closely with peers and business partners to increase the efficacy and performance of our software solutions.

Primary Responsibilities Design, develop and modify custom .NET Core web applications and APIs Contribute to the definition, development, testing and deployment of software solutions, in coordination with other initiatives and solutions Implement solutions to consume and publish data to and from various endpoints Partner with Product Owners, Support and Software teams to identify issues and design solutions Integrate and support third-party solutions Debug and tune performance of software solutions Leverage AWS components to implement technical solutions including EC2, Fargate, EKS, ECS Implement unit tests based on acceptance criteria with TDD in mind Write code with scalability, maintainability, performance and integration with other components and systems in mind Ongoing education and learning of new programming techniques and technology Mentor other members of the Development team Must-Haves 5 years of experience with C# and the .NET Framework, including .NET Core Experience integrating with and managing Continuous Integration (CI) and Continuous Delivery (CD) workflows Experience working with version controls systems such as Git, TFS Experience working with ORM and Micro-ORM frameworks such as EntityFramework or Dapper Experience working with ASP.NET Web API and MVC Experience working in Agile projects such as SCRUM, Kanban Strong understanding of client-side performance Strong understanding of application integration patterns, including REST APIs and messaging middleware Understanding of application containerization such as Docker, and orchestration such as Kubernetes or Swarm Understanding of modern authentication and authorization patterns such as OAuth2 and OpenID connect Understanding of UI application patterns such as MVC and MVVM Understanding of design patterns such as Dependency Injection (DI) and Inversion of Control (IOC) Understanding of SOLID principals to maintain and improve code quality Preferred Skills Experience with or interest in front-end web technologies like React and Angular Experience with or interest in modern software architecture patterns such as Microservices and Domain-Driven Design Experience deploying to and utilizing cloud provided services such as AWS, Azure, Google Cloud Platform Experience with working and securing PII and GDPR data Performance and environment scaling experience is a plus Location & Travel Located in Austin, TX with up to 20% time spent traveling to software partner, regional offices and/or store locations.
