Net Centric Systems Engineer/Architect Principal


This is a Full-time position in Laurel, MD posted January 4, 2020.

Description Provide direct, full-spectrum engineering and architecture support to a multi-organizational Program Management Office developing a new corporate capability that fully leverages existing corporate capabilities, while fully embracing new commercial solutions capabilities and custom features.

The position requires extensive systems engineering experience to include system/software development experience, risk identification and management, requirements engineering, data flow analysis, dependency identification, and interface definition.

The candidate will support the PMO in all areas and all phases of the system development lifecycle; examples of this support could include System and Functional Architecture artifacts, CONOPS, Capability Roadmaps, Functional Requirements Documents, Software Requirements Specifications, Analysis of Alternatives, Trade Studies, Technology Gap Analysis, Program Plans, Capability Roadmaps, and Dev/Ops Processes and Procedures.

Additionally, this position requires the ability to coordinate closely with multiple internal teams and external organizations supporting the program schedule.

Qualifications Individual Capabilities/Experience Required:
• Experience in producing DoDAF or Unified Architecture Framework (UAF) architecture artifacts and other systems engineering documents required of a Major Systems Acquisition (MSA).

• Experience collaborating directly with mission stakeholders at various levels
• Experience in collaborating with developers to represent mission needs during development.

• Requirements Management experience Submitted candidates must meet the minimum experience and education requirements to qualify for the Systems Engineer Level 6 (SE6) labor category.

Bachelor’s degree or advanced degree in computer science, information systems, engineering or other related discipline plus at least 20 years of systems engineering experience.

A Master’s degree or PhD may be substituted for two years of experience.

A high school diploma or GED plus 24 years of systems engineering experience would also be acceptable.

Desired Qualifications Individual Capabilities/Experience Desired:
• Knowledge in scheduling & defining/managing to a critical path
• Experience with JIRA/Confluence
• Knowledge of Agile Methodologies.
