Manager, Oracle Financials

Vortex Consulting is currently seeking a Manager, Oracle Financials.

This position will be responsible for managing a Business Systems Analyst team accountable for production systems support, delivery of quality system enhancements to existing systems as well as deployment of new systems that meet the needs of the business functions.

Additionally, the Manager Oracle Financials provides architectural guidance to the Business System Analyst team.

The incumbent will provide Oracle Financials leadership managing resources and ensuring completion of deliverables and tasks for all aspects of the global Oracle ERP program within the financials area of accountability (AR, AP, CE, EB Tax, General Ledger and Sub-Ledger Accounting, Fixed Assets, Projects, Cost Management, Intercompany, month end close processes including reporting).

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Systems Development Lifecycle Reviews and analyzes the effectiveness and efficiency of existing systems/technologies and develops strategies for improving or leveraging these systems.

Research, identify and propose best practices.

Reviews requests for services / improvements and partners with business stakeholders, clarifies objectives, determines feasibility and jointly determines business implications/value.

Defines functional / system requirements and documents current/future state business processes.

Ensures that any new software integration meets functional/end user requirements, compliance and interface specifications, and proper documentation is maintained.

Develops effective test scenarios, scripts and use cases with consideration to cross functional and process stream impact.

Analyzes formal test results in order to discover and resolve defects, bugs, errors, configuration issues, and interoperability flaws.

Responsible for coordinating activities of teams, schedules and resources for assigned tasks or projects.

Production Support (Run Time) Is fully proficient in the end user functional processes performed within the supported applications.

Performs application system administration functions specific to application setup, configuration and maintenance.

Performs system, process and application monitoring and gathers metrics.

Carries out procedures to ensure that all information systems products and services meet quality, organization standards and end user requirements.

Provides expertise and problem resolution to functional departments when issues extend outside the knowledge of the key departmental Key Users.

Serves as escalation point for key users and the global applications staff.

Manages the IT delivery of training curriculum and materials.

Monitors and review service requests to ensure services are delivered to SLA and customer satisfaction.

Organization and Management Mentors and manages the performance of staff members including providing specific and constructive feedback to team members and completing annual performance reviews.

Ensures sufficient training for all staff members on all existing and new software.

Able to drive team to a highly efficient and cohesive working unit.

Financial Systems Implementation Play an active leadership role in the design process in refining our business process to take advantage of Oracle’s and integrated systems’ capabilities Design, recommend, and evaluate proposed architecture and integration solutions in and out of the ERP within functional areas of accountability Work closely with other track leads (cross-track) to formulate the best overall solutions Conducts deep dive reviews within and across teams to ensure cohesion within the overall solution Responsible for planning and executing a significant portion of the global ERP implementation, in partnership with our chosen ERP solution integrator and business process leaders POSITION QUALIFICATIONS: Finance Systems and Processes All core and related Operational Accounting and Finance business processes run within the set of Enterprise Resource Planning Tools (Oracle EBS) Procure to Pay
– AP Order to Cash
– AR Record to Report Project to Asset Strong knowledge of finance business processes and related Operational Accounting Strong knowledge of Software Development Life Cycle Strong knowledge of transitioning hyper-care support to support team Strong knowledge/experience of integration to non-ERP systems like HFM, Concur, Blackline etc.

EDUCATION Bachelor s Degree in relevant field is required.

EXPERIENCE 10-15 years implementation experience for commercial, distribution and/or manufacturing applications, or other manufacturing industries.

5-7 years’ experience in a leadership role with responsibility for global enterprise systems teams and external partners.

Extensive global Oracle ERP implementation experience – financials modules focus within manufacturing and/or distribution environment.

Experience in managing global resources (services vendor and/or resources) in a development and production role.

Experience in working with various global teams like project, testing, compliance and business teams.

Must be proficient with Microsoft Office.

Oracle EBS R12 and/or other financial ERPs.

Strong understanding of Oracle AIM methodology.

25-50% travel required.
