Datacenter IT Hardware Technician (Security Clearance Required)

This is a Contract position in Denver, CO posted January 16, 2020.

Northrop Grumman is looking for individuals to assist with the initial standup of a site located at the Denver Federal Center which requires IT-related equipment hardware installation, asset inventory system installation, Data Center Optimization Initiative (DCOI) software suite installation and ongoing IT facilities support, equipment removals, maintenance and implementation of environmental changes once the site is online and in production.

A significant percentage of the work must be completed during hours that ensure minimal disruption to the production network.

This facility will be on a 24/7/365 schedule and all staff are essential so we being dependable is a must.

The individual will use both mechanical (hand tools, drills, etc.) and electronic (meters, tester, etc.) to perform assigned functions.

The duties frequently require lifting or manipulating up to 100 pounds.

With other assistance and the use of mechanical lifts, some equipment can weigh well over 100 lbs.

The individual shall have adequate knowledge of telecommunication links and modes of transmission of data, including all cable configurations.

They must have the capability of manufacturing various cables on short notice with provided supplies.

Expertise shall include installation of Open System servers, routers and switches.

Experience with Cisco and Brocade preferred.

Duties will also include cable installation, and housing of equipment in cabinets.

The individual shall work to perform analysis, resolve network problem situations, and provide ongoing configuration decisions relating to the physical layout of the network infrastructure system.

Because of the large number of equipment installations and projected incoming equipment, contractor personnel shall be capable of performing the duties described with minimal supervision within ninety-days from the start of this task.

They will work closely with the task manager to produce deliverables defined in each function There are 2 available shifts that go from 7am-7pm (12 hours each).

Position 1: Week 1: Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday (48 Hours)
– Off Saturday, Sunday, Friday Week 2: Saturday, Sunday, Friday (36 Hours)
– Off Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday Position 2: Week 1: Saturday, Sunday, Friday (36 Hours)
– Off Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday Week 2: Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday (48 Hours)
– Off Saturday, Sunday, Friday Roles and Responsibilities: Hardware Assessment Checks (eyes only) Equipment Power Resets Hardware Installation/Removal Cable Installation/Verification/Removal Configure Server DRAC/Mgmt ports Facilitate and document Electrical Installation Review Projects for Resilancy Thermal Air Management/Containment FRID Tracking & Auditing Labeling Equipment Reseating and/or Removing Hard drives Installing or Reseating Power Supplies Replacing Internal (I/O) Cards Qualifications:Basic Qualifications: Bachelor’s Degree and 5 years of relevant work experience; 9 years of relative experience will be accepted in lieu of a degree.

3 Years of experience installing/troubleshooting/maintaining Network Equipment and Open Systems Servers 3 Years of experience working in a Data Center Must be able to obtain a Position of Public Trust clearance Must be a US citizen or green card holder Preferred Qualifications: Prior SSA experience.
