Azure cloud engineer


This is a Full-time position in Orlando City, FL posted January 2, 2020.

*NOTE: CANNOT work on C2C/ Corp to Corp basis Rate: $70/ hr on W2 Duration: 6-12+ Months onsite contract Location: Orlando, FL == Overview == The Azure Cloud System Engineer is a senior level team member who consults with project and delivery teams to design and implement solutions.

This role is an expert within their team on all aspects of Microsoft Azure.

They are responsible for working with application architects to create solutions for delivering new services and capabilities in the cloud as well as migrating existing on-premises solutions to the cloud.

Their work includes: using their expertise to appropriately utilize cloud capabilities; consulting with product teams to deliver both off-the-shelf and in-house solutions; and ensuring that company standards and policies are upheld, particularly regarding security and instrumentation.

This role will apply systems reliability engineering principles, DevOps practices, and ITSM service operation disciplines that facilitate a highly efficient, highly available production environment.

Basic Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in a field such as Computer Engineering or Information technology, or equivalent work experience.

• 5+ years’ experience in a role supporting and/or deploying enterprise-scale solutions which demonstrated strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

• 4+ years’ experience designing and deploying solutions in Microsoft Azure using a variety of services, including: virtual machines, web sites, storage service, queue service, azure search, SQL database, DevOps services, etc.

• 2+ years’ experience designing and deploying solutions using Docker and Kubernetes, with a strong preference for AKS.

• Excellent written and verbal communication as well as relationship skills.

Is able to articulate advanced technical topics to both technical and non-technical staff at all levels.

• Proven experience setting-up, working with, and troubleshooting multiple operating systems including both Windows Server and linux (with a preference for Red Hat and/or CentOS.)
• Demonstrated understanding of how to configure and use code management, configuration, and deployment tools, including: Terraform, Chef, Rundeck, git, github, TFS, etc.

• Demonstrated understanding of operational concepts in the areas of: full-stack web applications; Java applications and middleware; computer networks and network infrastructure; and database concepts in relational and NoSQL databases.

• Familiarity with current software development lifecycle (SDLC) concepts and best-practices and CI/CD pipelines.

• Familiarity with IT Service Management (ITSM) processes, especially: incident management, problem management, and knowledge management.

ITIL Certification is desired.
